Indian Independence Day

Sunday 14 August the Indian community in Australia gathered to celebrate Indian Independence Day. Thousands of people came to the Olympic Sports Centre. Watch and listen to the school children, the dancers and the parades.

Look for the blue skinned god in the photo. It is our desire to start Discovery Bible studies among the Indians in Australia so that they can read God's Word and discover for themselves what He is like and how He wants them to live. Please join us in praying for this.

(for some reason this 7 minute video does not start playing until the entire file is downloaded. It will start automatically. The first 15 seconds does not have sound).

These children raised $8,000 for overseas missions

The Sunday School children at a nearby church held a concert to raise money for overseas missions.  They raised over $8,000.  The adults in the audience (about 80 of them) can be seen putting money under the children's clothing.  What a great way to affirm these children and their desire to help people overseas.

We were invited by one of the children in Chris's Scripture class.

Spring in Australia

This weekend we went up to Leura in the Blue Mountains to observe the spring flowers.

Twelve people opened their gardens to the public.  I almost felt like I was back in Portland, Oregon USA.

William reaches the world from Eldoret

WilliamWilliam is an Online Missionary. From his home in Eldoret, Kenya he is having a worldwide impact. William has already helped 178 people this year on the next step of their spiritual journey. He was so committed to one person that he drove six hours so they could meet face to face.

100,000 helped

Last year the online missionaries that Bob recruited helped 100,000 people on the next step of their spiritual life . Every day they are answering emails from people around the world. Here are some of the emails they received:

  • So good to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. I am not alone because He’s always there to guide me (Jacisse, Philippines).
  • I am a Buddhist, but in my life I got only help from Christian people and now I prayed to Christ (Simul, Spain).

Chaplaincy program is invaluable, says Principal

Margaret Coote, recently retired Principal of Homebush West Primary School, Sydney, is a firm believer in school chaplaincy. She says...

I believe the school chaplaincy program has been invaluable at Homebush West Public School where the mobility of the population is high and so many members of the school community are new arrivals to Australia. The chaplain has made all new members of the community feel welcome. She has been a wonderful asset in facilitating communication between home and school.
